About the Team
The California Interscholastic Federation added flag football as a varsity sport for 2023.
Menlo School made a quick impact with two full teams and recorded a 15-1 record in its inaugural season with two former NFL quarterbacks in its coaching ranks.
There was no postseason for the sport in the section in its inaugural year, but a league and Central Coast Section playoffs are likely around the corner.
The Coach
Noah Lubarsky (First Season)
Lubarsky, a 1994 graduate of Menlo where he played receiver, returned to his alma mater as a coach in 2012.
Lubarsky is known for cultivating strong ties with players and helping them reach their potential as students and athletes. In fall 2023, Lubarsky served as varsity assistant coach-quarterbacks for Menlo, which finished the season as Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean champions and went 10-2. He worked closely with the quarterbacks, including Offensive Player of the Year Mikey McGrath.
No stranger to leading an entire team, Lubarsky was JV head coach for six years prior to last season and led the Knights to league titles in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 despite Menlo being the smallest school in the division. He also served as offensive coordinator, and coached defensive backs, running backs and receivers.
